Rose Coloured

Memories’ eye
opens kaleidoscope colours
labelled friend, gorgeous woman.

A colour burst
surrounded by intertwined roses
radiating grace, closeness
my love
my Rose.

Yellow diamonds spiral
iris widening past moments of
humour, the so positive lady
with hard edges
of amazing toughness, perseverance.

Blue circles
the eyes pool depth
I journey with,
Enjoy looking into,
enjoy skipping stones
of reaction over.

Eyes now framed, bigger,
in rimmed glasses
for our mutual reading,
iPad screens,
comfortable couch silence
together independence.
I watch you
laugh, scroll, like and comment
and just enjoy the social you.

Rose,
Colour mixes of
passion, faith, directness and quick smiles
Words in Wisdom’s season
Amazing Mother
Incredible daughter
Beautiful wife.

You are my;
time spanning kaleidoscope poem
memories eye
hearts embrace.

Starting Thoughts:
A poem for the lady I have journeyed with over many years. White is made of many colours, just as Rose has many amazing attributes, gifts, skills and strengths. She has a wonderful personality - great growing old with her. Posted for 60th anniversary.

Heart Search

Centered in the heart
of all,
Desires for love,
Of purpose.

Where are the solutions?
in a world of answers
saturation media
social connections
Somehow fragility exists.

More questions grow.

Why the desire:
to search?
to speak?
to hold?
to cause pain?
to withdraw?

Why the driven:
looking beyond,
seeking different,
the now,
the present,
the past.

Somewhere simple
we are drawn to
another rhythm.

Starter Thoughts: Why do we seek, ask questions? Why bother thinking or trying not to think about God?

Why do we search and desire more. Spoken word Christian poem

Human Nature

Human nature
Scars and beauty,
Seeping decay
Shadows across Earth's face
Living to rescue one moment
Suicide bomb hate the next.

Life suffers:
In death, luxury, instant world,
focus on the me,
Fear, Pain
I am right!

But there was a suffering
A history eternity moment
Connecting
Earth to life,
Us to pure love
Us to the judge,
to hope
to freedom.
Us to God.
A faith to live for,
Beyond the Earth
Beyond an expanding universe
Beyond everyday, today and tomorrow.

Live this life
Love the rescue
of your soul.
Human Nature Soul Christian Poem

Finding the Spark

At the core,
We know
sustaining our perfect
me skin
is impossible.

Building moments
Painting the flesh,
Self saturated, we try.
Hostile to outside
life and freedom,
We paint ourselves
into corners,
Pain traps.
Shattered meaning.

In being only self,
We lose self.

"But I am good,"
we cry from the corner,
Just echoes
of darkness
call back
"What is good
good, good, anyway?"
Ashes to ashes,
Dust.
In a lost world
Could there be more?

It seems there...
in a child's hug,
care of a friend,
in stars, mountain tops,
a bud drawing life
in Spring's new kiss.

Threads of a reality.

In a lost world
Could there be more?

Someone who knows me
sees me,
sees through me,
and yet loves me
holds me,
is prepared to die for me,

God sparks.

Prompt
How do we paint ourselves into so many self corners? Hidden pains.
Finding the Spark, finding meaning. Spoken Word Poem

Run the Road

Walking up the Road
Leaving behind,
Threading out the darkness,
Ghost chains,
Footsteps away
from
a life of drowning in
unintended consequences,
Shit stuff,
Not so unintended consequences.

Obeying a call,
To change
Embrace the light,
To accept a Saviour,
Calm, hope and fear
centered in me now
as I journey
finding the Way.

A Father's heartbeat
Rhythm of the road,
Love's call,
Forgiveness' flow
Freedom's laughter
His welcome hug.

Choosing again
In purpose
I. Walk.
I. Run.

Prodigal Son Poem

My Spirit

My spirit
Extol
Ever praise
The One
Highest above,
You are
The Great I Am,
Beyond time,
Jesus
Adored Lord,
Worthy
Complete
Wholeness and Truth,
I worship You
In the hardness of the cross
In the love of the cross
In the joy of the cross
In the power of the cross
In the moment of the cross.
Here and now

I worship you
Here and now.

Starting Thoughts: The Cross is a display of the character and personality of God, a God willing to love in both the hard and gentle, in sacrifice and power.

Spoken word poem worshipping the God of the cross - of love

Now Future

What will last forever
in eternity, infinity
locked to perpetuity
the now future
of the kingdom come?
Faith - confidence reality
in the seen unseen
Hope - the today joy
of tomorrow's promises
Love - the greatest
gift of purpose, freedom,
sacrifice.

Starting Thoughts: What really lasts in a seemingly temporary world, temporary life? Is it all random or is there more? Why do we search and look for love?
Bible Verses: “Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT

What will last in our world? Is infinity a real thing but personal?

Moon

Inside
steel girders
Comfortable chairs
Walls safe
Thick concrete
Reinforcing a sameness,
Step to a window
Press nose to cold
See the night,
Moonlight reflections
Of the Son
Lift my soul,
One rock
That spins in space
Crying out,
Dark in itself,
Catching the light
Reverberates
Life of the universe.
Moon Christian Poem

Again Rain

Again
Soggy leaves
Firefly of colour
Torn travellers
Now tiredly water stuck
to wet tarmac
Stranded
just outside my door
Again
rain on window
skeleton gaps leaf
plastered unmoving
death fighting gravity,
Glass
cold to my nose
as I look close,
Lucky me…
twice warm inside.

Prompt
Poetry: Watching the rain window from inside... heat pump on?
Autumn Window Rain Leaf Poem

Soul Window

Beginning
Snow white we were,
Innocent,
Free.

Beginning déjà vu
the poisoned Apple,
One small moment
In time,
A decision,
Earth's history changes,
Death increases,
Pain intensifies.
The very stones,
Core of earth
wait and groan.

Timeless
Another door opens
Alternate reality,
Hope
Is gifted, birthed, lives, laughs,
Walks with, learns with,
Shows a love
Immense, Free
Giving choice,
Promise in life's lacerations
Hope for dispossessed
Complete forgiveness.
Beautiful.

Jesus
our soul's window
to God's heart,

Open
to the kiss
of the prince.

Faith

Faith
Embraces the wanderer,
Seekers and lost
Pained and released.
No dress code
No restrictions.

This world's
Needs, desires,
wants,
Are shadow trades
for this unaccountable
Amazing unknown.

Get up and walk
Walk to his cross
Walk to his arms
Faith
Walk to his light
Walk to his hope
Faith.
Your steps, his steps
Your path, following his destiny.

He knows your doubts
Questions,
Jesus has been before
Lived your dark before
Seen you before.

Take your dreams,
Hopes, laughter,

Live life in God.
Have faith.
Faith Walk Christian Media Poem

ANZAC

White crosses
contrast to
Neat cut grass,
Buried memories.

Poppy fields
Blood red petals
Black heart centres,
Flower life tributes,
We remember:
Pain, sacrifice, pride,
courage,
mud soaked comradeship,
Betrayal, dark fear, numbness,
Shrieks of explosions
Broken cries,
Shattered lives,
Shattered limbs,
Shattered minds,
Incomprehensible carnage.

My soul embraces
emotion questions that
challenge the now.

In the stillness...
Mutilated reflections of
Ultimate price.

Blood poured out
Life given
Life lifted.
Life received.
ANZAC war poetry

A Breath

It is a breath
Moments of life
Heart flickers.

Thoughts in time
suspended in
circles of praise,
Worship
of God
Before time
Alpha
The End
Omega.

Worship
changes the soul
challenges
Holy Spirit whispers
centering towards Jesus
Who is he?

Where do you stand
kneel, hang
before his cross?

Where do you hide?
Retreat, ignore, block,
threaten, plead
before his resurrection?

How will you respond
to his love,
call, questions?

If I Took Words...

If I took words
Combined,
connected into one:
Power
Love
Justice
Sacrifice
Significance
Freedom
Eternity
Brother, sister, friend, father, mother
Extremes
Life
Spirit
King
Cost
Change.

Would my mind cope?

If I had
All time
All words
They would not be enough
Just ebbing thoughts,
Inadequate shadows,
To describe the Great,
"I am"

Starting Thought
How could I start to try describing God with words?
Words to Describe God Poem Media

Worship

Be engulfed, enfused
In this eternal love,
In a world of
shifting sands
Running hour-glasses,
Tell of the everlasting...
His love
The greatest reason to worship,
His cross love
The greatest reason to worship,
His forgiveness personified
The greatest reason to worship,
His resurrection power love
The greatest reason to worship.

He waits
Arms open wide,
Universe creator.

We come in worship
Giving in voice, thoughts;
glory to the One
Holy is He,
Precious, "the Great I Am"
Wonderful Redeemer
Living loving God.
Worship Praise Christian Poem

You Called

You called, "Come."
I left what I knew
Embraced unknown reality,

You spoke, "Awake."
I opened darkened eyes
from spiritual lack.

You cried, "Father forgive them,"
I engraved these love words
Mind to heart.

You said before dawn
the cock will crow,
“Three times"
I know now
boasts mean little,
Cheap betrayal,
Yet threaded, intertwined,
three times you asked,
"Do you love me?"
"I do."
Twice; "You know I do."
Third time, soul deeper,
life aware, pride cut,
"Lord, I do."

You announced, "Let there be light"
And I danced
in a new beginning.
You called - Respond to God

Words

The play of words
game of words
throne of words…

Hate fester words
Back stab gossip
War engraving text
Love declarations
Advertising mind twists
Thoughtless remarks
Timeless quotes
Idle chitchat
Blog comments
Humour mind remarks
Music laced words.

Our world...
Stick and stones
Life and death
through words.

Who said in power,
"in the beginning.. Was the Word!”
Who said, "I am the Word,
the Truth and the Life!”
Who said
nailed and struggling for breath,
"Today, you will be with me
in Paradise!"

Who are You?

You, I have a choice...
Either, this is a random world
Ultimately you-we
make up our own meaning
in this universe.
It takes courage to
believe this.

Choice two...
There is something
beyond ourselves,
Why am I here?
What more is there?
It takes courage to
believe this.

Yet many of us create
a third choice delusion.
The busy, the unreality...
Just live life the best
Get some money,
Get some fun, some action,
Some sport
Blur brain entertainment,
Get a job,
Get a...whatever...
And we can die
hiding the questions,
drugging the questions,
Layered self-deception.
But if we strip away
the scabs
We have made a choice,
One we don't like...
Choosing the random world
trying, numbing
ourselves to the hole it leaves.

Random or more?
Just
who are you?

Connections

The artist
dot by dot
paintbrush breathes life,
imagination captured
Story told
unfolding in viewers mind.

This place
This church,
dot by dot
creating over time
3D art mirroring life,
Story told
over time
in relationships,
Love connections.

Patina of years
Layers deepen
each dot, each brushstroke,
mirroring reflections,
glimpses of the image
of God.

We are God's
picture,
individual hues
Blending, composing.

So jump
into the paint, the painting
Enjoy being His creation,
sing His colours,
connected to create
connected to bless
Connected to portray
experiences of Gods love.
The church is a painting - Christian Poetry

Love Is

Love is
both heart and mind
passion
decision,
Love is holding hands
in sunshine
in hard times.

Love is quiet
A good morning smile
A look of praise
A caring, holding,
A crying together.

Love is powerful
Patient,
Quick to forgive
Slow to anger
Strong in respect
for each other.
Love is humour
Laughter in moments shared
Joy in a future combined
Love is honour
Placing priority in the other
Love is time
spent chatting,
revealing secrets
Open honesty
Just being there.

Love is  … twenty second
hugs with my best friend,

Love God
Love you.
