Finding the Spark

At the core,
We know
sustaining our perfect
me skin
is impossible.

Building moments
Painting the flesh,
Self saturated, we try.
Hostile to outside
life and freedom,
We paint ourselves
into corners,
Pain traps.
Shattered meaning.

In being only self,
We lose self.

"But I am good,"
we cry from the corner,
Just echoes
of darkness
call back
"What is good
good, good, anyway?"
Ashes to ashes,
Dust.
In a lost world
Could there be more?

It seems there...
in a child's hug,
care of a friend,
in stars, mountain tops,
a bud drawing life
in Spring's new kiss.

Threads of a reality.

In a lost world
Could there be more?

Someone who knows me
sees me,
sees through me,
and yet loves me
holds me,
is prepared to die for me,

God sparks.

Finding the Spark, finding meaning. Spoken Word Poem

Moon

Inside
steel girders
Comfortable chairs
Walls safe
Thick concrete
Reinforcing a sameness,
Step to a window
Press nose to cold
See the night,
Moonlight reflections
Of the Son
Lift my soul,
One rock
That spins in space
Crying out,
Dark in itself,
Catching the light
Reverberates
Life of the universe.
Moon Christian Poem

Hole in the Side

He could of come alive
with a new body.

As Incredible power burned death,
Universe fabric was turned,
Chaos reconstructed
into new realms of infinity.
Jesus rose, alive.

But his love
Is such
That his body is still scarred
Perfect love
with the scars of pain,
holes of suffering.

Not a good look.

But does God care
about the outward,
about being the fashion,
the image, the thin fake?
In pouring out his soul
God's love knows you
The real depths of you
inside hidden thoughts,
cloaked habits.

Put your hand in the wound
The amazing scar and see,
Touch.
Respond to this love,
Reality.

Call like Thomas,
"My Lord, my God"
Call like Thomas,
"My Lord, my God"
Discover His passion.
Holes in the Side Christian Poem

Bush Fringe

Signpost People

I stand there
staring at their
identical smiles,
Laughing back
Fashion sleek
airbrushed exteriors
latest accessories
vogue beautiful people
same face,
in-crowd music
popular up-to-date values
carbon copied styled party,
They ask me to join
rent my space
be a billboard,
But I know they're
dressed to kill,
Sightless eyes
poster gaudy
but dark
grows in their minds.

Signpost People Spoken Word Poem. Beauty and facades.

Opening

I walked through
rooms of my life
drifts disturbing
my mind,
I gathered stained grey
impressions and
prejudices,
and Spring cleaned
my feelings
and thoughts
to others.

It felt cold first
as the winds
of change
froze my being,
the inner space seemed
bigger but desolate.

And then you exploded into
my existence
colouring rainbows
painting laughter
bringing summers and
tumbling sunshine.
Fresh creation cascades of
outside life
crowded pushing
through doors
bursting, filling my life,
reviving reality in realities midst,
bringing diamonds of
joyful tears.

Starting Thoughts: Sometimes we are ready for a sea-change, something new, a radical shift. And little did we know that this was the moment that God will burst into our life, he's always been there but now seems to be the moment we are open to Him.

Spojken word poem on making choices and experiencing amazing life from God

Borderline

One foot planted
in life giving river
another in a draining sewer,
some moments swept
in plunging ecstasy
through sparkling water
Others feeling
the endless sucking spiral
of cloying mud depths.

As you walk
wet footprints shine
one side clean, refreshing imprints
others fetid smells, slime steps.

and you wander
somehow blind
to the trail
of hope holding hands
with faltering life,
staggering through doors
crowds
friends
god...

Starting Thoughts: So easy to be double-minded, a hypocrite, and sometimes we don't even see the impact, the trail of what we have left in the world.

What is the hypocritical trail we leave behind us in our faith? Poetry Spoken Word

Easel

A lone siren
split the sky
in jagged cracks
that crazed around
another life
cornered,
what is it about
that wail
in the background?
A sneaky relief
it isn’t me,
followed by
tiny guilt,
a quick heart prayer
for victim, family, friends,
Mortality intrusion
pinpricking my accidental life.

Somewhere,
the paintbrush slips
smearing the canvas,
one colourful part covered,
when dried,
when died
that section
will be painted over,
new life
hiding old.

Does the emergency siren in the distance intrude on your life... remind you of mortality?
Hear the siren, what do you think? Spoken Word Poetry about life.

Spark

Observed
under the microscope
conceptions birth start
a spark of light emitted
the moment sperm meets egg.

Tiny glimmer with
incredible potential,
possibilities
impact
life and love
For each spirit flame
is unique.

But great fear crowds in,
subtle winds at first
Stuttering the flame,
Then shutters violently close
Compressing fears' darkness,
consuming creativity
Why you ask?
Who am I? echoes,
Breaking you piece by piece
so the gaps fall
tearing your being.

And then
in the mist midst
of crushing darkness,
a note sings
Pure clean,
Tremulous life giving,
Listen
feel the touch,
brushing your ears and mind,
Come to the one
who said, "Let there be light "
Let Him blow on the embers
The pain, the fear, the risk, the death
Let Him
Reveal the Light
Infused emanating from
His desire to love you
The One who created
that first spark.

Call
breathe again
hear your voice
Desiring His love
speaking out your love,
You have the spark,
the power
for change
to change,
switching the destiny
of your walk.
Leading your path,
Captured and captivated
in His glory.

"Oh Brilliant
bright spark,
radiant neurons,
rise and shine
you are the light
of my eyes,
My bride
glorious."

Christian Spoken Word Poem on the Light of the World.

25th

Blue green bay mirrored
to your eyes
seeing in them
Sounds of our past
from "yes"to "I do"
times of passion
dreams together
laughter and stress
worship and mess

Lady in Red
breeze
in beauty

I love
the way we know
each other
the guessed thoughts
the respect for each
others talents

I love
sharing time
holding hands
on sandy beaches
seated in chairs
on river banks
reading in baches
then and now
living vows.

Starting Thoughts: Celebrating a life with of 25 years marriage with my beautiful wife. Love spending time with her.

Watcher

I am a watcher of God,
Not for Him,
I stand sometimes on
the edge,
hovering
anticipating,
waiting - sort of
for divine intervention,
but not asking for it,
Feeling like I'm a target
yet somehow I am missing,
As a watcher I
see the power
the revelation,
I see the new
I see the love,
But I'm just a bystander,
Partial witness
aware but not here.

Falling Apart

Almost an empty street
end of day dark
creeping across sky,
couldn’t wait to get home,
"I’m tired,"
I had just thought
when a stranger
or was it life
walked straight into me
and I fell
apart
separated bones
and sinews
disjointed body
rolling, scattered
by gravity forces
across grass verge
bouncing into gutter
but in law-abiding attention
to road rules for
some macabre reason,
nothing bounced
onto the road.
The collapse skittered
to a piecemeal stop
but when I tried to
get up
I couldn’t find one leg.

So I just lay
in pieces,
grinning from the pavement
enjoying
the spaced out feeling.
