Surrounded in dark
I know this blackened room
sharp objects of my life
hurting corners, shapes unseen
hidden
destructive,
I'm stumbling 
over the same things
again and again
as I seek a way out.
Just finding the switch
seems so hard,
Is it safer just to sit
alone in this dark?

Shifting shadows
of others
all around me,
do they wait,
hidden,
for the same reasons?
