Not to the powerful
or political centre of influence
but to a small town
born in a manger…
sneaky Jesus

played as a human
worked as a human
unknown
thirty years,
fully human
sneaky Jesus

at a party
first miracle
quietly changed the water
into the best tasting wine,
just being helpful,
sneaky Jesus

not a look
just a short spoken word
"If you are without sin
cast the first stone”
and the accusers left
the prostitute alone,
sneaky Jesus

gathered the one’s
not wanted
not seen as leaders
not powerful
as His disciples,
sneaky Jesus

said words
told stories
that changed lives
sneaky Jesus

Then Satan
trapped Him
whipped, hung,
Tortured, killed
and danced loudly,
but quietly
after three days of nothing
just walking out to
the grinding
of a displaced stone
cascading thunder
into Satan's world
Jesus rose,
Destroying death
unexpected
supernatural,
sneaky Jesus!
