Bells peal
Summoning the battle lines
Satan rubbed
gleeful hands
as people were
called to church.

The Lord stretched
His spirit
to those who came
Victorious loving power
to those that
bothered to claim

But the people
did not love
they couldn't
in division
slander
respectable sin
and divided
they fell
while God waited at the door

And the devil got up
and danced on the altar.
