Unexpected

At cross intersection corners
waiting for green light
your complexity amazes me,
In the smile of a grandson,
Lifted arms,
your love is grinned,
Above flower hovering bee
crafted creation dance
your beauty amazes,
In blown paper rubbish,
Lonely swirls of forgotten,
your hope whirlwinds
into my Spirit.

Starting Thoughts: Surprised by the presence of God? Seeing God in unexpected places.

Seeing God in Unexpected places Spoken Word Poetry

Bridal Walk

Scent of sunlight
hung in dew-robes air
mist gently fading
to blue skied
wings of daylight
Wind took
unseen, unfelt feelings
played tunes of intimate charm
with the awakening,
deep in the enveloping spirit
a union of creation's enigmas
The bride is rising
fingers dripping in myrrh
sensing the groom
quickening heart
a soar of angel wings
the order
of God arrives.

The Edge

Growing darkness
Merges with the shadows
of rustling, whispering trees
mountain forest clearing,
seconds of slow
starlight reflection
evolve
into clear creation.

You stand
cold wind
edging your thoughts
Looking at the stretched expanse
shimmering star lights
expanding dreams and hopes.

The world...
universes...

Made.

Each White Song

Each white song
Unique crystalline beauty,
Cleansed in the Sun,
Formed extreme cold
Symmetric created crystals,
Now
Gracefully tumbling,
At times blown
on winds of fancy,
Yet drawn by gravity
By the power
towards earth.

Together
they meet
jostle and settle
mingle and mix,
Each one fragile
but together,
power to stop cars, trucks,
avalanches and glaciers
inexorable change
to the world.
Together
celebrations of life
Snowboard excitement cuts
Snowball thrown
family fun.

The potential of one
Being one.

Give us a King

In Christ,
No longer Jew and Greek
Slave or free
Young or old
Male or female
make or remake,
We are one,
No better
than each other,
All entering
the same promise.

But boy...
do we try
to fake it,
rename it,
And crown a new king!

Give us a king
A president, chief
A chancellor, mullah, priest,
Just someone,
A leader,
Who we can give
hope to
pain to,
blame to
dreams to.
Emperor
in new clothes.

And a boy...
truth in the crowd,
Cries
"The emperor,
he is naked,
not wearing anything!"

The One only King
Has clothed us
in his righteousness ,
Called us heirs
to his forgiveness
Kingdom of love,
His aliveness,
Crowned us all
his children,
His riches,
Be free,
be one,
be this love
be His blessing
Be His witness.
Give Us a King Chrisitan Poem

Finding the Spark

At the core,
We know
sustaining our perfect
me skin
is impossible.

Building moments
Painting the flesh,
Self saturated, we try.
Hostile to outside
life and freedom,
We paint ourselves
into corners,
Pain traps.
Shattered meaning.

In being only self,
We lose self.

"But I am good,"
we cry from the corner,
Just echoes
of darkness
call back
"What is good
good, good, anyway?"
Ashes to ashes,
Dust.
In a lost world
Could there be more?

It seems there...
in a child's hug,
care of a friend,
in stars, mountain tops,
a bud drawing life
in Spring's new kiss.

Threads of a reality.

In a lost world
Could there be more?

Someone who knows me
sees me,
sees through me,
and yet loves me
holds me,
is prepared to die for me,

God sparks.

Signpost People

I stand there
staring at their
identical smiles,
Laughing back
Fashion sleek
airbrushed exteriors
latest accessories
vogue beautiful people
same face,
in-crowd music
popular up-to-date values
carbon copied styled party,
They ask me to join
rent my space
be a billboard,
But I know they're
dressed to kill,
Sightless eyes
poster gaudy
but dark
grows in their minds.
