Valley Shadows

Valley shadows
dark tangling
chasing my life
Long and thin grey
stretching out
Past patches
tendrils of decisions
shifting with the sun
reaching out to trip
bring me down
on my knees,
And in that position
I am ready to give up…

Give up to
God the highest praise,
Look up,
for God is good in every
Place
Circumstance
for God is glorious in every
Valley
Moment.

Only this God
the resurrection Son Jesus
Can, Has restored time
for me to be fully me,
for you to be fully you,
I rise up smiling
Sunlight dancing
across my eyes
Sunshine dancing
in my soul.

Starting Thoughts:
Can we find the God who is good in both the valleys and the mountain top experiences in our lives? If the love nature of God never changes, if the grace of Christ is forever, can we walk the journey in the Spirit drawing closer to God?

Destiny Opens

My thoughts
doorways to future
Opening my destination
Neurons
Stimuli
steering my direction,
Step by step
Opportunity by opportunity
with the focus
of my meditations,
I choose
Not to stare into the broken
But focus on the good
Putting aside the distractions
Putting them in flight mode
Until habits that are life
Form and Firm,
And in this who I am
Becomes clearer
clarity shimmers
Pixel by pixel
Until,
I see my true self in God
In his eyes
my reflection
In his tears
His twinkle of fun
His dilated pupils of love
In his heart me...
Princess, prince, child of God.

Starting Thoughts: How much does the power of small decisions open our destiny, our direction and connection with life? Is how we view ourselves is how we see the world?

Embedded Love

The Big Bang
The cataclysmic moment where
time, material, state started,
and with these
amazing energies
God begins relationship
With humankind
Generations
With you, us
Motivated by
love infused DNA
God models true humanity
Models change
models deep-heart talk,
Models complexity
and simplicity,
How in the dark
light is born,
how in old age, death, pain, evil
life moves on, grows, laughs, opens,
That is why God
First sent people,
prophets, leaders
the ordinary
to tell God's real story,
many kicked, beaten, killed
laughed at, scorned, excused,
and time revolved
eras and civilisations
rose and passed
threaded through with
questions of the why,
for God desires relationship
and let history run
in all its quality of decisions.

Finally,
embedded in
time’s crossroad,
God sent
the last One
the Close One
Chosen One
the personhood of God
God skinned
the Only Son
the last sent,
the one to
show true love and
be Worthy of love
the one who would stand
innocent, pure
Beyond time
to restore
to Take the judgement
of all sin,
Crucified as us
to bring Earth's
Past, present, future
through grace
into love relationship with God.

And the resurrection power
Spoke
A new commandment
that you love
one another, as yourself
As God deeply loves you,
walk in forgiveness
grace and honour
into your life
child, daughter, son of God
release the prophetic treasure
breathe words of gold
extraordinary people
telling God's story
releasing God's spirit
releasing his call.

How God

In the Heart

Where is the treasure
of your heart?
Even Buried, hidden
it moulds your life,
Even in your sleep,
Dreams reveal what
holds and runs your life
The tosses and turns
Passions and Burns
Straight paths and returns.

Find the place
of your heart
Make room for revival
For you are
Uniquely designed
Uniquely created
Uniquely you
Made for this love,
Find yourself in
Life turned around
Connected to yourself
Connected to acceptance
Connected to the house
The people of God,
You are in the place
This place
Healed, restored
Scars of heart
Scars of mind
Scars of body
gone,
You stand in this place
This house
Knowing, being
forgiveness and restoration
For there is
No name above the
The name of Jesus.
“Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.”
Everlasting to Everlasting
This place
Our place
God's place
Heart in this house space
And the roof
is off.

Bible Verses: 1 Chronicles 29
Starting Thoughts:
Where is money and generosity in our life? Are we hoarding, hiding, keeping the best of who we are from others… our time, thoughts, treasure? Where our heart is focused is where our life is placing importance?

Spoken word poem on treasure in our heart, audio video

Omega Christians

The courage to step out - do you hear God's call.… High Resolution Version
The wire stretches,
thin snake of meaning
over a chasm of nothingness,
Voices, vices scream,
neon lights beckon
tell me I'm a fool,
All attempting to make me fall.
I edge forward
step by step
the wind is cold.
It seems strange,
I swear I hear my own voice
telling me to stop
to give up
to relax and fall,
discover a better place.
Unsure the voices below
distract
I do not really listen to God,
I'm self angry
tired
I turn to the Word
"And now - all glory to Him
who alone in God, who saves
us through Jesus Christ
our Lord;
yes, splendour and majesty
all power and authority are His
from the beginning; His they are
and His they evermore will be.
And He is able to keep you
from slipping and falling away,
and to bring you, sinless and perfect,
into His presence
with mighty shouts of everlasting joy.
Amen."
In the quiet of my mind
God speaks,
"Close your eyes
then step out and trust me."

CLOSE MY EYES!

There in the black cold
my faith grows,
as I step out
the tightrope becomes
a glorious road.

Hope Discovered

In darkness
the anticipation of light,
times dreaming in
awakening soul,
Inside pain
a hug, longer, deeper
without false words,
taking the risk
of future pain,
Beginning life
cry of new born,
turns of suffering
giving way
to unfolding pages of beauty,
A choice
for possibilities
controlling fears
self whispering
“Try again.”
Knowing now's feeling
will not
be tomorrow's spirit ,
the Spring
after the Winter,
that in falling’s jeopardy
wings will work,

Hope...
The string
centimetre by centimetre
unwinding
a kite's flight.

Dust Finger

Hate of him,
We have set the trap,
The law, the bait,
The manipulation.

And then
the teacher
Steps through, past
into the circle
breaking, pausing the moment.
He kneels,
touches her shoulder
Somehow intimate,
Bringing the anger
to our minds again.

He looks up
at us, unnerving
in a silence that appears.
Paused, we see our faces
reflected,
Young, smooth,
older, stained, creased.

He crouches
writes in the dust,
Edits of life
dust to creation
dust to dust
soul stick sentences
swirl in the seen
and unseen words.

"If you,"
the teacher speaks;
quiet echoing depths,
"Are without sin, throw the first stone."
The speaker looks
at us
as the story
our lives, his life, her life
are connected, unravelled,
and tightened in our souls,
Our collective soul,
Opening past and present,
Time held in heartbeats.

And we leave
one by one
Eldest to youngest,
with our shame,
our pain,
Not healed,
but exposed
Not quite yet
honest enough
to see all of our story,
But changed,
Opened?
Questioning.

Again and Again

I remember,
as many will
the moment
gut of heart
first time
God calling
Bursting pounding
heart moment decision
in moments of hesitation
Facing being unclean
a sinner
Allowing grace
Resurrection Love supreme
to infuse my life.

Dying to self
yet now…
few selfs worthy of a grave.

Return
to your first love.

At the Cross

"The hard cross reveals an immense love. We can know who we truly are at the cross."

At the cross
Hard wood, hard nailed,
hard faces
Soft flesh.
Sin's focus
Sin's power
Sin's lies.

Flawlessness embraces flaws
Perfect enveloping terrible
Hope infusing fear,
Love enfolds the cold,
Streams of mercy
heaven's cascade,
Washing clean.
It's who Jesus is.

Some sins escape me,
The things I don't do
when I could
I slip,
Good is not enough
in God's perfect.

At the cross
Love revealed,
Immense, wide
Not a half-filled cup
but ocean depths,
Freedom claimed,
Healing imparted,
Forgiveness flows.

Jesus takes all sin.
I am
Loved,
Released...
Oh, the infinite closeness,
It's who I am,
It's who I know.

Time Reloads

Head in hands,
Hands, hair, skin, skull
Holding in the pain,
Replaying images.

Time reverses
Seconds leach from the future,
Spiralling past events
Decisions, consequences,
Small flights of thought
Covering vast spaces
Of choice,
Ticking seconds, minutes, years
Unfolding past from present,
Unrolling truth and lies...
Unaware alternatives
Mixed with desired selections.

The paths
Wide and narrow,
Dark and light,
Forks in our story.

It's your choice,
Choice

Time Reloads

Starting Thoughts
Making choices and decisions. How does one choice affect our life?

God Moments - Time with a Friend

Soft dawn light
Shadows dappled green
Stirred slightly
in breeze's gentle touch,
sitting in car,
parked beside council pool
Six A.M. swim behind me,
Listening,
Hearing from God,
Called a quiet time,
I've read bible verses
and thoughts from a stranger,
both have crossed the world
and time to me,
my head buzzes
with thoughts,
but when I look deep
into trees - their briefly
sunshine stirring maple leaves,
Watch mountain bikes
taking path's curve,
voices drift past me,
The white Toyota sauntering for a park:
I see and smile,
wind down the window,
Beyond the hum
of air conditioning,
Bird calls waken my spirit,
The Life around
in cars, pools, over the fence in houses
is amazing,
God’s story
fills and quiets my soul,
And I smile with God,
tuned to Him.

Unknown the day,
Known is my Lord.

Excited and secure
I start the engine.

1 Chronicles 28:9 NIV
“...acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you…"

Hear Christmas

Snow falls
Sounds of silence whisper of
white grace
Cleansing complete,
Stop to the stillness,
listen to the Christ massed voice,
Hushed within
a soft sense of Serene, alone.

undisturbed by thought,
Listen to the Silence in your mind
Hear Christmas.

Sunshine falls
Loves warm Light
Wrapping your hearts pulse.
Holding your hope
Infusing joy.

undisturbed by thought, listen to the Silence in your heart,
~the still small voice.
Hear Christmas.

Stars night shine,
Galaxies remote and vast
reflected in your eyes,
Seeing distance
Feeling closeness of creation.
undisturbed by thought, listen to the silence in your heart,
The rhythm of sustaining life
Hear Christmas.

Starting Thoughts: Christmas Video and Media. What do you hear at Christmas?

Shades of Grey

I live a life
Shades of grey.
Faded tumbleweed
never smoothly rolling
Unsuited,
Constantly throwing
decision dice
that lead to nowhere
corners, dark alley traps.

From the corner
of my eyes
Colour scratches
at my mind
And when I turn
refracted colour explodes
across my vision, world.

I know this colour.

I recoil
Fear of choice,
of a different voice,
of being drawn
to a different life
…too much…
so I let the street winds
city dust devils
roll me
pick me up
stuff me in
a bleached scarecrow,
now hidden
hung in grey rags
in a monochrome world.
Shades of Grey Seeker Poem

Run the Road

Walking up the Road
Leaving behind,
Threading out the darkness,
Ghost chains,
Footsteps away
from
a life of drowning in
unintended consequences,
Shit stuff,
Not so unintended consequences.

Obeying a call,
To change
Embrace the light,
To accept a Saviour,
Calm, hope and fear
centered in me now
as I journey
finding the Way.

A Father's heartbeat
Rhythm of the road,
Love's call,
Forgiveness' flow
Freedom's laughter
His welcome hug.

Choosing again
In purpose
I. Walk.
I. Run.

Worship

Be engulfed, enfused
In this eternal love,
In a world of
shifting sands
Running hour-glasses,
Tell of the everlasting...
His love
The greatest reason to worship,
His cross love
The greatest reason to worship,
His forgiveness personified
The greatest reason to worship,
His resurrection power love
The greatest reason to worship.

He waits
Arms open wide,
Universe creator.

We come in worship
Giving in voice, thoughts;
glory to the One
Holy is He,
Precious, "the Great I Am"
Wonderful Redeemer
Living loving God.
Worship Praise Christian Poem

Who are You?

You, I have a choice...
Either, this is a random world
Ultimately you-we
make up our own meaning
in this universe.
It takes courage to
believe this.

Choice two...
There is something
beyond ourselves,
Why am I here?
What more is there?
It takes courage to
believe this.

Yet many of us create
a third choice delusion.
The busy, the unreality...
Just live life the best
Get some money,
Get some fun, some action,
Some sport
Blur brain entertainment,
Get a job,
Get a...whatever...
And we can die
hiding the questions,
drugging the questions,
Layered self-deception.
But if we strip away
the scabs
We have made a choice,
One we don't like...
Choosing the random world
trying, numbing
ourselves to the hole it leaves.

Random or more?
Just
who are you?
Who are You Christian Poem

In the Son

I stand
half in sun half dark
a person in pieces
life on one side, death on the other
Caught on the wire
trapped indecision,
caught in events
indifferent yet aware
caught yet sensing freedom
wanting to hope, not willing to try
ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
The light speaks, calls,
a confidence touch,
light of the world,
love bathed rays
penetrate my heart
call to my mind
I rise
hope’s smile calls.

Shattered

Shattered,
Numb holes
In our soul's fragments,
Pain etched across
Faces, TV
Replays of scenes
In Mixed media
In minds
In conversations,
Swirling emotions
Holding pain
Sharing pain,
Questions
With no answers
Voiced into
The not knowing

Hope birthed
Neighbours knocking on doors
Student army young muscles
Shifting disaster spade by wheelbarrow,
Water shared
Meals shared
Stories shared.

Anger birthed,
Knock on darkened door
Torch flashed in face
Surprising back pack
Dark clad looter
Runs With adrenalin
Black heart into blackness

Waiting birthed,
Return text
From family,
Call to say
Loved one safe,
Water, power, food
Sleep weary
Simple day to day life
Routines desired.

Possessions hammered,
Learning stuff
Doesn't matter
Compared to life.

In dust
Crumpled buildings
Flooded houses
Liquefaction hit
Alive is celebrated
On scales
Grim to thankful
Stunned to action.

Others, randomly ok
Feel guilty spared
Unsure.

God we cry
Cry

A blink of time
In Your hands,
We trust
Now and tomorrow
To God,
Who knew shattered,
Had close family
Who understands human
Knew death
New life in resurrection power.

God we hope
Deeper into You.

Seen

I saw you
a shadow part
of the crowd,
You’ve come again
to hear the words,
feel friendship,
something more,
Dying at the crossroad
yet fascinated,
that God’s spirit speaks.
Your crystal moment glimpse
is of living,
but this life scares,
so you embrace
freedoms
that generate chains.
“Let the dead bury the dead!”
You see...
almost,
but camouflage and dark glasses
are your world.

Cold Pause

Cold morning soldiers
of dew and mist
covering any
thought of sunrise,
Flower world waiting
to yawn,
yearning birth
But this fragment of time
is suspended,
stopped moments
in dark wooded valley,
Sounds hushed
colours greyed
fragrances frozen,
time seemingly paused
in a collective breath,
The only life
a muted stream that stirs
in shallow stones
swirling through
deep  pools
banks guarded by
still willows
green arms embracing
hushed waters.
The frosted moment thaws
night citizens seek refuge
scuttling towards
darker shadows,
And daylife slumbers
about to awake
to the first warble
of birdsong harmonies.

It is time,
your time,
Awaken
sleeper to
new hope.
Your life reborn.
