In the Head
In the throng
Hidden in the crowd,
But fearful for exposure
before the community
that shunned her
marginalized her
because of her health
Seeing her as diseased
Separated life from life,
She crept forward
in the jostling tumult
of hopes, fears
And in some ways
she had come to that place
hearing of hope
heart wrapped in belief
willing to sacrifice safety
pursuing chance
not knowing she was
threading destiny,
In the sunshine, sweat stained clothes
Dust, heat, Smells, she got closer
her fingers reached out
Past her doubts
Past her worries
Past the thoughts of others
Past fears
touching the hem
of one person's garment
to encounter eternity
as power left the Messiah
revealing the healing,
"Who touched me?”
asked the Messiah
and she trembled
forward falling at His feet,
“Your faith has healed you”
Day’s dawn was her step
freeing herself from the way
people think,
Now she walked
Freed into new life
Freed for peace
Freed to encounter
Freed to celebrate.
Bible Verses: Mat 9:20-22; Mar 5:25-34; Luk 8:43-47
Starting Thoughts: Sometimes you risk. Just wanting to step out and see change, ignoring the jeers of others or what they will say about you and do it!
